The Big Apple Coffee Party is an independent local group established in May 2010, and meeting regularly since then. We are committed to diversity, civil discourse, acting independently of political parties, corporations, and political lobbying networks.
We demand a government that responds to the needs of its citizens as expressed by our votes and by our voices—not corporate interests as expressed by misleading advertisements and campaign contributions.
We want a society in which democracy is treated as sacrosanct and ordinary citizens participate out of a sense of civic duty, civic pride, and a desire to contribute to society.
The Big Apple Coffee Party consists of volunteer, grassroots activists who live in New York City and meet regularly to advance our common goals. Our biggest initiative has been our on-going “Don’t Do Koch” Campaign, and hope we can help it spread throughout other groups and around the country. Our Big Apple Coffee Party website documents many of our events. Our Big Apple Coffee Party “Don’t Do Koch” Facebook page takes you through many flyering events since its inception.
